At 39 Brendan Lyon was admitted as a partner in a prestigious global accounting firm after a successful business career. With a solid reputation and a good professional network, he thought his career and life were on-track.

At 42, Brendan was forced from his partnership amidst serious allegations of professional misconduct and technical and mental incompetence - leveled internally by his own partners and publicly by the head of the powerful NSW Treasury.

Described in 2018 by Prime Minister Anthony Albanese as ‘“a man of integrity, vision and intellectual depth who has the national interest as his motivation in his working life”, Brendan is UoW’s first professor of practice in the Faculty of Business & Law.
